Barangay Matam-is

Situated in City of Baybay, Leyte, Barangay Matam-is is one of 92 barangays that make up the city within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Matam-is had a population of 312. This made it the 86th largest of 92 barangays in City of Baybay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Matam-is accounted for approximately 0.28% of the total population of City of Baybay, which stood at 111,848 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 322 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 312 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -3.1%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Matam-is as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Baybay is a city comprising 92 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Matam-is, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
