Barangay Maybog

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Maybog is one of the administrative divisions of City of Baybay in Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Maybog had a population of 1,551. This made it the 25th largest of 92 barangays in City of Baybay by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Maybog accounted for approximately 1.39% of the total population of City of Baybay, which stood at 111,848 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Maybog moving from 1,461 residents to 1,551 residents, an intercensal change of +6.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Maybog as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Baybay is a city comprising 92 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Maybog, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Leyte, which contains 1,641 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Maybog ranks 325th by 2020 population.
