Barangay Gairan

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Gairan is one of the administrative divisions of City of Bogo in Cebu, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Gairan had a population of 10,548. This made it the 1st largest of 29 barangays in City of Bogo by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Gairan accounted for approximately 11.87% of the total population of City of Bogo, which stood at 88,867 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Gairan changed from 9,751 to 10,548, a shift of +8.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Bogo. Barangay Gairan is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Bogo is a city comprising 29 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Gairan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cebu, which contains 1,203 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Gairan ranks 50th by 2020 population. Barangay Gairan is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
