Barangay Bucayao

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Bucayao is one of the administrative divisions of City of Calapan in Oriental Mindoro, MIMAROPA Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bucayao had a population of 2,640. This made it the 26th largest of 62 barangays in City of Calapan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Bucayao accounted for approximately 1.81% of the total population of City of Calapan, which stood at 145,786 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bucayao moving from 2,667 residents to 2,640 residents, an intercensal change of -1.0%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bucayao as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
