Barangay Muñoz

Barangay Muñoz is a small barangay in the City of Catbalogan, located in the province of Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Muñoz had a population of 1,712. This made it the 16th largest of 57 barangays in City of Catbalogan by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Muñoz accounted for approximately 1.61% of the total population of City of Catbalogan, which stood at 106,440 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Muñoz changed from 2,736 to 1,712, a shift of -37.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in City of Catbalogan. Barangay Muñoz is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Catbalogan is a city comprising 57 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Muñoz, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
