Situated in City of Lipa, Batangas, Barangay Sabang is one of 72 barangays that make up the city within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sabang had a population of 22,153. This made it the 1st largest of 72 barangays in City of Lipa by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Sabang accounted for approximately 5.94% of the total population of City of Lipa, which stood at 372,931 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 23,535 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 22,153 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -5.9%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Sabang is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Lipa is a city comprising 72 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sabang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Batangas, which contains 1,078 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Sabang ranks 3rd by 2020 population. Barangay Sabang is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
