Barangay Mayngaran

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Mayngaran is one of the administrative divisions of City of Masbate in Masbate, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mayngaran had a population of 5,005. This made it the 7th largest of 30 barangays in City of Masbate by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Mayngaran accounted for approximately 4.79% of the total population of City of Masbate, which stood at 104,522 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,664 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 5,005 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +36.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Mayngaran is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Masbate is a city comprising 30 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mayngaran, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Masbate, which contains 550 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Mayngaran ranks 14th by 2020 population.
