Barangay Lawa

Classified as a very large barangay, Barangay Lawa is one of the administrative divisions of City of Meycauayan in Bulacan, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Lawa had a population of 15,592. This made it the 5th largest of 26 barangays in City of Meycauayan by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Lawa accounted for approximately 6.91% of the total population of City of Meycauayan, which stood at 225,673 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Lawa changed from 12,854 to 15,592, a shift of +21.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Meycauayan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Lawa as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Meycauayan is a city comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lawa, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bulacan, which contains 569 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Lawa ranks 33rd by 2020 population. Bulacan is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Barangay Lawa is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
