Barangay Bunga

Situated in City of Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental, Barangay Bunga is one of 47 barangays that make up the city within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bunga had a population of 1,454. This made it the 18th largest of 47 barangays in City of Oroquieta by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Bunga accounted for approximately 2.01% of the total population of City of Oroquieta, which stood at 72,301 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,266 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,454 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +14.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bunga as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Oroquieta is a city comprising 47 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bunga, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Misamis Occidental, which contains 490 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bunga ranks 129th by 2020 population.
