Barangay Lenienza

Barangay Lenienza is a large barangay in the City of Pagadian, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Sur, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lenienza had a population of 5,053. This made it the 15th largest of 54 barangays in City of Pagadian by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Lenienza accounted for approximately 2.40% of the total population of City of Pagadian, which stood at 210,452 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,664 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 5,053 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +37.9%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Lenienza is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Pagadian is a city comprising 54 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lenienza, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Del Sur, which contains 779 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Lenienza ranks 27th by 2020 population. Barangay Lenienza is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
