Barangay Tiguma

Barangay Tiguma is a large barangay in the City of Pagadian, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Sur, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tiguma had a population of 12,604. This made it the 2nd largest of 54 barangays in City of Pagadian by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Tiguma accounted for approximately 5.99% of the total population of City of Pagadian, which stood at 210,452 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Tiguma changed from 12,401 to 12,604, a shift of +1.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in City of Pagadian. Barangay Tiguma is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Pagadian is a city comprising 54 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tiguma, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Barangay Tiguma is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
