Barangay Malvar

Barangay Malvar is a mid-sized barangay in the City of Santiago, located in the province of Isabela, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malvar had a population of 4,947. This made it the 11th largest of 37 barangays in City of Santiago by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Malvar accounted for approximately 3.33% of the total population of City of Santiago, which stood at 148,580 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Malvar changed from 3,508 to 4,947, a shift of +41.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Santiago. Barangay Malvar is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Santiago is a city comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malvar, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
