Barangay Buenavista

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Buenavista is one of the administrative divisions of City of Sorsogon in Sorsogon, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Buenavista had a population of 2,033. This made it the 37th largest of 64 barangays in City of Sorsogon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Buenavista accounted for approximately 1.12% of the total population of City of Sorsogon, which stood at 182,237 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Buenavista changed from 1,736 to 2,033, a shift of +17.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Sorsogon. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Buenavista as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Sorsogon is a city comprising 64 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Buenavista, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
