Barangay Gimaloto

Barangay Gimaloto is a small barangay in the City of Sorsogon, located in the province of Sorsogon, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Gimaloto had a population of 1,029. This made it the 51st largest of 64 barangays in City of Sorsogon by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Gimaloto accounted for approximately 0.56% of the total population of City of Sorsogon, which stood at 182,237 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Gimaloto changed from 1,050 to 1,029, a shift of -2.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in City of Sorsogon. Barangay Gimaloto is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Sorsogon is a city comprising 64 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Gimaloto, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
