Barangay Osiao

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Osiao is one of the administrative divisions of City of Sorsogon in Sorsogon, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Osiao had a population of 3,083. This made it the 17th largest of 64 barangays in City of Sorsogon by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Osiao accounted for approximately 1.69% of the total population of City of Sorsogon, which stood at 182,237 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Osiao changed from 3,174 to 3,083, a shift of -2.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in City of Sorsogon. Barangay Osiao is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Sorsogon is a city comprising 64 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Osiao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Sorsogon, which contains 541 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Osiao ranks 46th by 2020 population. Barangay Osiao is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
