Barangay Mapawa

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Mapawa is one of the administrative divisions of City of Surigao in Surigao Del Norte, Caraga, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Mapawa had a population of 1,270. This made it the 30th largest of 54 barangays in City of Surigao by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Mapawa accounted for approximately 0.74% of the total population of City of Surigao, which stood at 171,107 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Mapawa changed from 1,132 to 1,270, a shift of +12.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Surigao. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Mapawa as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
