Barangay San Fernando

Barangay San Fernando is a mid-sized barangay in the City of Talisay, located in the province of Negros Occidental, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Fernando had a population of 4,585. This made it the 9th largest of 27 barangays in City of Talisay by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay San Fernando accounted for approximately 4.21% of the total population of City of Talisay, which stood at 108,909 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay San Fernando changed from 3,638 to 4,585, a shift of +26.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Talisay. Barangay San Fernando is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Talisay is a city comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Fernando, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Occidental, which contains 662 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Fernando ranks 205th by 2020 population.
