Barangay Guinalaban

Barangay Guinalaban forms part of City of Tangub, a city in Misamis Occidental, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Guinalaban had a population of 845. This made it the 37th largest of 55 barangays in City of Tangub by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Guinalaban accounted for approximately 1.24% of the total population of City of Tangub, which stood at 68,389 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Guinalaban moving from 771 residents to 845 residents, an intercensal change of +9.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Guinalaban as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Tangub is a city comprising 55 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Guinalaban, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
