Situated in City of Tayabas, Quezon, Barangay Ayaas is one of 66 barangays that make up the city within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ayaas had a population of 180. This made it the 64th largest of 66 barangays in City of Tayabas by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Ayaas accounted for approximately 0.16% of the total population of City of Tayabas, which stood at 112,658 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 230 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 180 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -21.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Ayaas is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Tayabas is a city comprising 66 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ayaas, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
