Barangay Poblacion Oriental

Barangay Poblacion Oriental is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Consolacion, located in the province of Cebu, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion Oriental had a population of 3,147. This made it the 14th largest of 21 barangays in Consolacion by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion Oriental accounted for approximately 2.13% of the total population of Consolacion, which stood at 148,012 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,314 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,147 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -5.0%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Poblacion Oriental is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Consolacion is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion Oriental, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cebu, which contains 1,203 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Poblacion Oriental ranks 318th by 2020 population.
