Barangay Capulhan

Barangay Capulhan forms part of Dagami, a municipality in Leyte, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Capulhan had a population of 713. This made it the 13th largest of 65 barangays in Dagami by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Capulhan accounted for approximately 1.97% of the total population of Dagami, which stood at 36,178 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 559 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 713 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +27.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Capulhan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dagami is a municipality comprising 65 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Capulhan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
