Barangay Paraiso

Situated in Dagami, Leyte, Barangay Paraiso is one of 65 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Paraiso had a population of 1,074. This made it the 7th largest of 65 barangays in Dagami by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Paraiso accounted for approximately 2.97% of the total population of Dagami, which stood at 36,178 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,053 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,074 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +2.0%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Paraiso is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dagami is a municipality comprising 65 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Paraiso, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Leyte, which contains 1,641 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Paraiso ranks 573rd by 2020 population.
