Barangay Sampaguita

Barangay Sampaguita forms part of Dagami, a municipality in Leyte, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sampaguita had a population of 518. This made it the 31st largest of 65 barangays in Dagami by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sampaguita accounted for approximately 1.43% of the total population of Dagami, which stood at 36,178 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 515 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 518 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +0.6%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Sampaguita is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dagami is a municipality comprising 65 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sampaguita, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
