Barangay Poblacion

Barangay Poblacion is a large barangay in the municipality of Dalaguete, located in the province of Cebu, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 6,695. This made it the 2nd largest of 33 barangays in Dalaguete by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 8.98% of the total population of Dalaguete, which stood at 74,596 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 6,355 residents to 6,695 residents, an intercensal change of +5.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Poblacion is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Dalaguete is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
