Barangay Barasan

Situated in Dumangas, Iloilo, Barangay Barasan is one of 45 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Barasan had a population of 1,215. This made it the 29th largest of 45 barangays in Dumangas by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Barasan accounted for approximately 1.64% of the total population of Dumangas, which stood at 73,899 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Barasan changed from 1,219 to 1,215, a shift of -0.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Dumangas. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Barasan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
