Barangay Malbog

Situated in Estancia, Iloilo, Barangay Malbog is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malbog had a population of 755. This made it the 23rd largest of 25 barangays in Estancia by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malbog accounted for approximately 1.42% of the total population of Estancia, which stood at 53,200 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 762 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 755 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -0.9%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay Malbog is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Estancia is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malbog, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Malbog ranks 1004th by 2020 population.
