Barangay Poblacion Zone 1

Situated in Estancia, Iloilo, Barangay Poblacion Zone 1 is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion Zone 1 had a population of 2,779. This made it the 9th largest of 25 barangays in Estancia by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion Zone 1 accounted for approximately 5.22% of the total population of Estancia, which stood at 53,200 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion Zone 1 moving from 2,319 residents to 2,779 residents, an intercensal change of +19.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion Zone 1 as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
