Barangay Calabasa

Situated in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija, Barangay Calabasa is one of 16 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Calabasa had a population of 1,110. This made it the 14th largest of 16 barangays in Gabaldon by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Calabasa accounted for approximately 2.85% of the total population of Gabaldon, which stood at 38,958 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Calabasa changed from 1,100 to 1,110, a shift of +0.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Gabaldon. Barangay Calabasa is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Gabaldon is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Calabasa, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Nueva Ecija, which contains 849 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Calabasa ranks 694th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
