Barangay Catorse De Agosto

Barangay Catorse De Agosto is a small barangay in the municipality of Gandara, located in the province of Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Catorse De Agosto had a population of 1,874. This made it the 1st largest of 69 barangays in Gandara by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Catorse De Agosto accounted for approximately 5.32% of the total population of Gandara, which stood at 35,242 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Catorse De Agosto changed from 1,687 to 1,874, a shift of +11.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Gandara. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Catorse De Agosto as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
