Barangay Calaoagan Bassit

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Calaoagan Bassit is one of the administrative divisions of Gattaran in Cagayan, Cagayan Valley, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Calaoagan Bassit had a population of 1,399. This made it the 15th largest of 50 barangays in Gattaran by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Calaoagan Bassit accounted for approximately 2.38% of the total population of Gattaran, which stood at 58,874 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,232 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,399 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +13.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Calaoagan Bassit as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Gattaran is a municipality comprising 50 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Calaoagan Bassit, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cagayan, which contains 820 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Calaoagan Bassit ranks 345th by 2020 population.
