Barangay Poblacion IV

Barangay Poblacion IV forms part of General Luna, a municipality in Surigao Del Norte, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion IV had a population of 790. This made it the 13th largest of 19 barangays in General Luna by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion IV accounted for approximately 3.46% of the total population of General Luna, which stood at 22,853 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 725 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 790 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion IV as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

General Luna is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion IV, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Surigao Del Norte, which contains 335 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Poblacion IV ranks 217th by 2020 population.
