Barangay Poblacion

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Poblacion is one of the administrative divisions of Godod in Zamboanga Del Norte, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 2,222. This made it the 1st largest of 17 barangays in Godod by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 12.69% of the total population of Godod, which stood at 17,510 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 2,503 residents to 2,222 residents, an intercensal change of -11.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Godod is a municipality comprising 17 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
