Barangay Tawog

Situated in Hinunangan, Southern Leyte, Barangay Tawog is one of 40 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tawog had a population of 594. This made it the 24th largest of 40 barangays in Hinunangan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tawog accounted for approximately 2.04% of the total population of Hinunangan, which stood at 29,149 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tawog moving from 557 residents to 594 residents, an intercensal change of +6.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Tawog is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
