Situated in Ibaan, Batangas, Barangay Bungahan is one of 26 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bungahan had a population of 1,528. This made it the 18th largest of 26 barangays in Ibaan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bungahan accounted for approximately 2.61% of the total population of Ibaan, which stood at 58,507 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bungahan changed from 1,355 to 1,528, a shift of +12.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Ibaan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bungahan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
