Barangay Salagao

Barangay Salagao is a very small barangay in the municipality of Ivana, located in the province of Batanes, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Salagao had a population of 368. This made it the 3rd largest of 4 barangays in Ivana by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salagao accounted for approximately 26.15% of the total population of Ivana, which stood at 1,407 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Salagao moving from 349 residents to 368 residents, an intercensal change of +5.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Salagao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
