Barangay Pange

Situated in Jaro, Leyte, Barangay Pange is one of 46 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pange had a population of 547. This made it the 28th largest of 46 barangays in Jaro by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pange accounted for approximately 1.25% of the total population of Jaro, which stood at 43,758 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Pange moving from 572 residents to 547 residents, an intercensal change of -4.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pange as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Jaro is a municipality comprising 46 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pange, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Leyte, which contains 1,641 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pange ranks 1109th by 2020 population.
