Barangay Pitogo

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Pitogo is one of the administrative divisions of Jaro in Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pitogo had a population of 1,293. This made it the 14th largest of 46 barangays in Jaro by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pitogo accounted for approximately 2.95% of the total population of Jaro, which stood at 43,758 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Pitogo moving from 1,202 residents to 1,293 residents, an intercensal change of +7.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Pitogo is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Jaro is a municipality comprising 46 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pitogo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Leyte, which contains 1,641 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pitogo ranks 438th by 2020 population.
