Barangay Camandayon

Situated in Jimalalud, Negros Oriental, Barangay Camandayon is one of 28 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Camandayon had a population of 960. This made it the 17th largest of 28 barangays in Jimalalud by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Camandayon accounted for approximately 2.98% of the total population of Jimalalud, which stood at 32,256 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Camandayon changed from 934 to 960, a shift of +2.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Jimalalud. Barangay Camandayon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Jimalalud is a municipality comprising 28 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Camandayon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
