Barangay New Calamba

Barangay New Calamba is a small barangay in the municipality of Kalawit, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Norte, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay New Calamba had a population of 1,235. This made it the 9th largest of 14 barangays in Kalawit by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay New Calamba accounted for approximately 5.19% of the total population of Kalawit, which stood at 23,812 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay New Calamba changed from 1,163 to 1,235, a shift of +6.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Kalawit. Barangay New Calamba is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
