Barangay Tugbong

Situated in Kananga, Leyte, Barangay Tugbong is one of 23 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tugbong had a population of 3,692. This made it the 4th largest of 23 barangays in Kananga by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tugbong accounted for approximately 6.18% of the total population of Kananga, which stood at 59,696 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tugbong moving from 3,354 residents to 3,692 residents, an intercensal change of +10.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Tugbong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
