Barangay Poblacion North

Barangay Poblacion North forms part of La Libertad, a municipality in Negros Oriental, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion North had a population of 2,507. This made it the 3rd largest of 29 barangays in La Libertad by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion North accounted for approximately 6.10% of the total population of La Libertad, which stood at 41,089 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,364 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,507 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +6.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion North as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

La Libertad is a municipality comprising 29 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion North, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
