Barangay Poblacion South

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Poblacion South is one of the administrative divisions of La Libertad in Negros Oriental, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion South had a population of 1,371. This made it the 14th largest of 29 barangays in La Libertad by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion South accounted for approximately 3.34% of the total population of La Libertad, which stood at 41,089 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,464 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,371 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -6.4%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Poblacion South is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
