Barangay Montabiong

Situated in Lagawe, Ifugao, Barangay Montabiong is one of 20 barangays that make up the municipality within CAR.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Montabiong had a population of 500. This made it the 13th largest of 20 barangays in Lagawe by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Montabiong accounted for approximately 2.65% of the total population of Lagawe, which stood at 18,876 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Montabiong changed from 497 to 500, a shift of +0.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Lagawe. Barangay Montabiong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lagawe is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Montabiong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
