Barangay Alaguia

Situated in Lal-Lo, Cagayan, Barangay Alaguia is one of 35 barangays that make up the municipality within Cagayan Valley.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Alaguia had a population of 1,227. This made it the 18th largest of 35 barangays in Lal-Lo by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Alaguia accounted for approximately 2.52% of the total population of Lal-Lo, which stood at 48,733 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Alaguia moving from 1,088 residents to 1,227 residents, an intercensal change of +12.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Alaguia as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lal-Lo is a municipality comprising 35 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Alaguia, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
