Barangay Cangcahipos

Situated in Laoang, Northern Samar, Barangay Cangcahipos is one of 56 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cangcahipos had a population of 925. This made it the 22nd largest of 56 barangays in Laoang by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cangcahipos accounted for approximately 1.53% of the total population of Laoang, which stood at 60,607 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cangcahipos moving from 946 residents to 925 residents, an intercensal change of -2.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Cangcahipos is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
