Barangay Catigbian

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Catigbian is one of the administrative divisions of Laoang in Northern Samar, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Catigbian had a population of 875. This made it the 25th largest of 56 barangays in Laoang by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Catigbian accounted for approximately 1.44% of the total population of Laoang, which stood at 60,607 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Catigbian moving from 873 residents to 875 residents, an intercensal change of +0.2%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Catigbian is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Laoang is a municipality comprising 56 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Catigbian, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
