Barangay Sandugan

Barangay Sandugan is a small barangay in the municipality of Larena, located in the province of Siquijor, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Sandugan had a population of 1,077. This made it the 3rd largest of 23 barangays in Larena by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sandugan accounted for approximately 7.45% of the total population of Larena, which stood at 14,454 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Sandugan moving from 1,013 residents to 1,077 residents, an intercensal change of +6.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sandugan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Larena is a municipality comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sandugan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
