Situated in Libertad, Misamis Oriental, Barangay Dulong is one of 9 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

This made it the 3rd largest of 9 barangays in Libertad by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dulong accounted for approximately 12.34% of the total population of Libertad, which stood at 12,948 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,678 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,598 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.8%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Dulong as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
