Barangay Calabnigan

Barangay Calabnigan is a small barangay in the municipality of Libmanan, located in the province of Camarines Sur, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Calabnigan had a population of 1,396. This made it the 36th largest of 75 barangays in Libmanan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Calabnigan accounted for approximately 1.24% of the total population of Libmanan, which stood at 112,994 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Calabnigan moving from 1,233 residents to 1,396 residents, an intercensal change of +13.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Calabnigan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Libmanan is a municipality comprising 75 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Calabnigan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Camarines Sur, which contains 1,063 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Calabnigan ranks 554th by 2020 population.
