Situated in Liliw, Laguna, Barangay Ilayang Taykin is one of 33 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ilayang Taykin had a population of 2,981. This made it the 4th largest of 33 barangays in Liliw by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ilayang Taykin accounted for approximately 7.55% of the total population of Liliw, which stood at 39,491 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,831 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,981 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +5.3%, consistent with a growing settlement.
